Open burning is prohibited within the city from July 1st through September 30th of each calendar year and as may be further restricted by the Douglas Fire Protective Association, the Oregon Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ), or the North Douglas Fire and EMS. The following exceptions apply:

(1) Propane, natural gas, or briquette barbecues used exclusively for cooking that meet applicable federal, state, and local requirements.

(2) Fires set or permitted by any public agency when such fire is set or permitted in the performance of its official duty.

(3) Yoncalla Homecoming Bonfire with North Douglas County Fire and EMS and Douglas Fire Protective Association approval. (Ord. 434 § 1, 2019).
