(1) The practice of going in and upon private residences in the city of Yoncalla, Oregon, by solicitors, peddlers, hawkers, itinerant merchants and transient vendors of merchandise, not having been requested or invited so to do by the owner or owners, occupant or occupants of said private residences, for the purpose of soliciting orders for the sale of goods, wares and merchandise, and/or for the purpose of disposing of and/or peddling or hawking the same, is hereby declared to be a nuisance and punishable as such nuisance as a misdemeanor.

(2) Enforcement. The police force of the city of Yoncalla is hereby required and directed to suppress the same and to abate any such nuisance as is described in subsection (1) of this section.

(3) Penalty. Any person convicted of perpetrating a nuisance as described and prohibited in subsection (1) of this section, upon conviction thereof, shall be fined a sum not less than $25.00, or not more than $100.00, together with costs of proceedings, and in default of the payment of such fine and costs shall be confined in the city jail until such fine and costs are paid, and not to exceed one day for each $2.00 of such fine and costs.
