The procedures of this chapter pertaining to council declaration of a dangerous or derelict building need not be followed when a building is unmistakably dangerous or derelict and imminently endangers human life or property. In such an instance, the chief of the fire department, the fire marshal or the chief of police may proceed summarily to abate the building. (Ord. 409 § 2, 2011; Ord. 220 § 9, 1977).
